Na konci 2. svetovej vojny sa odohráva príbeh 20 ročnej Angle, ktorá sa stane prvou ženou - veterinárkou. Jej život je jedno veľké dobrodružstvo. Stáva sa objektom rivality medzi mužom, ktorého jej vybrali za manžela a jednoduchým idealistom, ktorý sa rozhodol žiť ďaleko od ľudskej divočiny, len v spoločnosti vlkov. Angle sa rozhodne rozhodnúť tento boj po svojom: chystá sa zachrániť ohrozených vlkov.
